Christine Vlahos, PT, MSPT
Christine is a NY/NJ state licensed physical therapist specializing in manual therapy, women’s health and Pilates for Rehabilitation. She received a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1999 from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and has an extensive post graduate education that includes orthopedic manual therapy techniques, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, prenatal and post partum conditions, prenatal exercise instruction, back education/spinal stabilization and pelvic floor dysfunction. She has extensive training in childbirth education from Maternal Fitness and the Childbirth Educators Association of Metropolitan New York. She completed the Pilates for Rehabilitation training with Polestar Pilates and uses Pilates principles as a foundation for her exercise programs. In 2017 she began studying Myofascial Release with John F. Barnes and now uses this manual therapy approach extensively in her practice. Christine has worked in private practice settings in the New York Metropolitan area and has treated a wide variety of acute and chronic orthopedic and conditions. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), APTA Women’s Health Section, National Vulvodynia Association and International Pelvic Pain Society.
Christine s is a native New Yorker – she was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Rockland County where she learned to appreciate the outdoors and physical activities such as running, biking, tennis, swimming, hiking and horseback riding. When she is not treating patients she enjoys exercise, gardening, reading, traveling, going to the beach and spending time with family and close friends.
